Salsa, cha cha, & Dance History

Dennis Lopez, affectionately known as "El Caballero" or "The Gentleman," has dedicated his life to dance and music since his first steps at age seven. With a foundation in classical training, he toured globally for five years as a lead dancer with Ballet Folklorico Guarionex of Puerto Rico. For over 36 years, Dennis has been a revered instructor specializing in Salsa On1 and On2, Cha Cha Cha, Bachata, musicality, and dance history, fostering a deep understanding of Latin rhythms. A pioneer in the Milwaukee salsa scene, he established D’Lopez Academy of Dance and Performance in 2012, and served as Artistic Director for Mambo Elegancia Dance Company. He's also been a show director for the Chicago International Salsa Congress for over 25 years and is the lead singer of the Spanglish Band. Since relocating to Tampa in 2015, Dennis continues to elevate the local dance scene, inspiring a new generation with his emphasis on musicality, style, elegance, and technical precision, embodying cultural pride in every endeavor.

sensual Bachata
Daniel Castillo is a globally recognized Bachata Sensual dancer, choreographer, and instructor, known for his signature blend of precision, control, and musical storytelling. With over a decade of experience, Daniel, who partners with Angie Guillen in dance instruction, has trained extensively across the U.S. and Europe, including elite programs like Sensual Week Spain. Angie brings many years of dance experience in both ballroom and bachata instruction, making her a key part of their dynamic partnership. This U.S. Marine Corps veteran fuses discipline with creativity, making his classes both technically powerful and artistically inspiring. He's taught and performed at top-tier festivals, produced viral dance content, and continues to mentor the next generation with a sharp focus on body awareness, musicality, and emotional expression. Daniel doesn't just teach steps; he transforms how dancers move, connect, and captivate.


kizomba & Urban Kiz
Jennifer Barreto is a passionate Kizomba dance instructor and organizer with a lifelong dedication to movement. She began dancing as a child with jazz and hip hop, later adding salsa and performing across major U.S. cities. Discovering Kizomba just before the pandemic, Jennifer quickly immersed herself, training with international instructors like Enah Lebon and Carlos & Anna. Now based in Central Florida, she's a key teacher and organizer with OKZ – Orlando Kizomba, where she actively builds community and shares her love for the dance, emphasizing musicality, connection, and respect for Kizomba's rich cultural roots.


Yashmin B. is a dedicated individual with a passion for life, whose diverse journey began in Puerto Rico with early training in jazz and ballet. By age 15, she embarked on a professional dance career with Dance Machine, teaching and performing alongside Latin American stars. Driven to expand her horizons, she moved to Miami, where she became a dance captain for the Miami Heat Dancers for four seasons, leading to further performances in notable shows and music videos.
After dedicating time to her family as a military wife, Yashmin explored diverse career paths as a Spanish teacher, Zumba instructor, and certified makeup artist, eventually becoming an E-RYT 200 yoga instructor. Her journey brought her to North Carolina, where she joined the social dancing community, training in Salsa and Zouk. Now in Tampa, Florida, Yashmin aims to impact others by sharing her passion for dance and facilitating growth, believing in changing the world one dance at a time, aligned with her dreams and aspirations.

Brenda Liz is an enthusiastic and dedicated Zumba instructor, passionate about helping individuals achieve their fitness goals through exhilarating dance. With a strong background in both dance and fitness, she crafts high-energy classes featuring a dynamic mix of Latin and international music designed to keep participants moving, smiling, and feeling fantastic. Brenda creates a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone, from seasoned dancers to absolute beginners, can express themselves freely while getting fit. Her classes are an invitation to let loose and "shake it together!"

With over a decade of experience in the vibrant dance scenes of Washington, D.C., Miami, and Montreal, they bring a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective to their teaching. Prepare to be immersed in the intricate details of sensual movement, from fluid body isolations to intimate partner connections. Their fun and engaging classes will not only enhance your dance skills but also awaken your sensuality and confidence on the dance floor.


West coast Swing

​Ian Sowell is a dynamic West Coast Swing instructor dedicated to helping dancers of all levels elevate their skills. In his classes, Ian builds confidence by teaching fun, easy-to-learn foundational patterns and elements, then adds creative twists for increased optionality and freedom on the dance floor. For more experienced dancers, he focuses on advanced lead and follow techniques, enhancing control and finesse. Ian artfully incorporates elements from various styles to create a versatile and expressive dance experience for every student.

Ladies styling
Natalya Kim @natalie___kim is a versatile choreographer, dancer, fitness trainer and Zumba® instructor with over 17 years of international experience in teaching dance and fitness. Originally from Almaty, Kazakhstan, she has taught a wide range of dance styles—such as Bachata, Heels, Latin, Ballroom, K-Pop, Folk and Ballet-inspired choreography—to both children and adults in Kazakhstan and South Korea. She was a dance partner/teacher of the main instructor of Grupo Esencia Korea and has performed alongside one of the World top Latin artists.
Natalya holds a degree in Choreography from the Kazakh National Academy of Arts and she was the founder and former director of Jam Session Dance & Fitness Studio in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Now based in Florida, USA, Natalya is ready to continue to share her passion for dance and movement through high-energy classes and creative choreography, blending fitness with artistry.

urban Bachata
Isaac Hawkins, a Tampa-based Bachatero from Los Angeles, discovered his passion for dance in college after a shy childhood. He honed his skills for five years with El Monstro Dance Company, becoming Assistant Director, and is now recognized for his creative, musical, and technically precise yet light-hearted style that ensures his partners' enjoyment.
Albina has been dancing since age 7, with extensive professional ballroom experience including top finishes in international competitions. After exploring contemporary and hip-hop, she immersed herself in Latin dance, developing a deep appreciation for Bachata while living in the Dominican Republic. With six years of training and performance in Bachata and Salsa, she now co-teaches an urban bachata course with Isaac at Dance Factory, bringing her rich experience and passion to students.
